
Corporate Event Enhancement
Company events tend to involve hours, if not days, of being cooped up in the fetal position and bombarded with sensory overload and sugar. How many employees have been sick and needed recovery time following an off-site? How many are able to recite the planned key points you wanted them to take away? Can any of your employees remember one content-related item from last year’s event? Or is the event a blur in their memory? How do you measure the success of a company event? These are questions I would put to the event planners, before spending $$$$$ on your next one.
As the wellness director for an SF-based tech company one of my roles was helping to maximize the effectiveness of the many in-person events. Imagine if your company event included advice on how to eat and drink for the days leading up to it, for the purpose of minimizing jet lag and maximizing cognitive ability and energy. When an entire room of executives starts the first session of the first day with a 5- to 10-minute fully-inclusive movement snack that makes their glutes light up, no introduction is necessary and the tone is set. As well as providing frequent movement snacks throughout the event to keep your attendees engaged and feeling awesome I can also provide:
morning movement classes (kinda like yoga but without the spiritual aspect)
catering advice to avoid energy crashes caused by sugar abuse
guided breathing sessions, teaching attendees the physiology and the practical application of meditation
